Today we have a guest post from Jon over at The Money Shed. As the UK’s largest community website dedicated to earning money from home and with a forum with over 150,000+ posts on it there is no better site to use when you are looking to earn money from home!’
Three Ways to Earn Money from Home
If you need to make some extra money, but don’t want to or can’t leave the house all day every day then you may be at a loss for what you can do. There are many reasons why people choose to work from home such as illness, family commitments or needing to have a more flexible working schedule.
However, working from home can leave many frustrated. There are a lot of jobs which claim to help you earn money from home, but don’t actually deliver. For people who want to work from home, this is annoying because it doesn’t earn them any extra income. There are also plenty of scams out there that actually get people out of their money.
But don’t give up! There are things and jobs that you can do from home which will help to boost your income and give you enough flexibility that makes it worthwhile. This list will also prevent you from falling victim to the scams which are out there.
Use your skills
Whatever your skills are, you can make money from home using them. Perhaps you’re an expert piano player, or are fluent in German, or you may even be really handy with a sewing needle. There are plenty of people out there who will pay good money to use your skills.
There are many different ways of doing this, and which one you choose will depend on your skill. If you have a lot of knowledge about a certain subject then you may want to consider doing online tutoring. If you can draw or paint you can sell your art to people. There are plenty of places online where you can offer your skills to people. You can even decide whether to do it online, or have people come to you for certain things – such as teaching an instrument.
As mentioned above, if you have a certain talent then you may be able to sell stuff online. This may include things like drawings or paintings. But you can also create custom and bespoke orders for people. There are so many places online these days where you can sell the things that you make. Places like Etsy and Shopify are just a few examples of people making stuff at home and selling it online.
This is a great option for people who want to stay busy, but with the flexibility of working for themselves. You can choose the order you want to take, have time off when you need it and work when it suits you. Even if you don’t fancy selling your creative pieces online, you can always declutter and sell things in your home. It’s the perfect excuse to create more space, and make some money.
Put your organisation to good use
If you’re a particularly organised person then you may want to consider becoming a virtual assistant. Much like a personal assistant, these people help to organise the schedules and diaries of others. Some typical tasks that a virtual assistant undertakes could be organising meetings, making and taking phone calls and sending emails.
Because of today’s advancements in technology, virtual assistants are more popular than ever because so many of these tasks can be done via a computer. All you will need is a decent understanding of basic computer systems, a good sense of organisation and the ability to work for other people. Usually a virtual assistant works typical office hours, so if you’re looking for more flexibility then maybe this isn’t for you. However, if you’re looking for something that will guarantee you a regular, steady income then this is definitely one to consider.
