Slimming World meal plan that you find tasty and satisfying, so don’t get
yourself into the mindset of believing that it has to be a miserable experience!
4. Not taking an inventory of your kitchen cupboards before you begin
Starting a diet doesn’t have to involve rushing out to the supermarket and
filling up your trolley. It’s very possible that right now, you’ve got more than
enough in your fridge, freezer, and kitchen cupboards to create a wide range
of Slimming World friendly meals.
If shopping your own inventory is something that you’ve neglected a little
recently, use this as an opportunity to get back on the right track.
5. Trying to do it all on your own
Meal planning can become tiresome if you have all the responsibility. If you’ve
previously done it all yourself, use the start of your new eating plan as a
chance to get the family involved. Ask them what they’d like to try, what they’d
like to eat on specific days, and what kind of tasks they’d like to help out with.
You’re much more likely to stick with your plan if you have support, and
everything becomes a little simpler when you have the family on board.
6. Cutting out all your favourite foods
Love a biscuit with your afternoon cuppa? You can still have one. Another
benefit of Slimming World is that you can work a bit of almost anything you
fancy into your diet thanks to your daily Syns allowance. You might be
tempted to skip these in an effort to speed up your weight loss, but it’s not
Allowing yourself to have the foods you enjoy will keep you motivated,
satisfied, and on the right track. In the longer term, it makes your healthier
lifestyle much more sustainable. So if your meal plan includes an afternoon
chocolatey snack, there’s nothing to feel guilty about!
7. Throwing in the towel at the first hurdle
At the end of the day, we’re all human. If you find yourself scoffing a sausage
roll during a trip to the shops, wolfing down the chips that your kids left on the
plate, or giving into the temptation of that tub of ice cream in the back of your
freezer, know that you’re definitely not alone, and a few blips along the way
are completely normal.
If you do fall off track, it doesn’t mean that you should scrap your new meal
plan and go back to your old ways of eating (or worse still, just order
takeaway!). Ask yourself what went wrong, consider how you can prevent the
same thing from happening again, and get back on the horse.
There’s no denying that if you’ve decided to follow Slimming World, you’ll
have to make some adjustments to how you manage your meal planning. If
you stick to the basic principles though that have always served you well, and
you make sure you avoid these common mistakes, it can be much easier to
manage than you might think!
