5 Frugal things 24/08/2018

I have managed to scrape together 5 Frugal things this week as the back end of the summer holidays takes it toll.

Most things have been tried already, spending part of the time on holiday and the kids going in various other directions for the rest of them. It is hard to save money when all they want to do is spend.

I am joining my fellow money bloggers Cass, Emma and Becky, to show you 5 Frugal things that I do every week!

With just two weeks left of the holidays, I have tried to be as frugal as I possibly can be, so here are my 5 Frugal things this week:-

5 frugal things week 2

1)We spent a gorgeous day in the sunshine with my sister and two sister in law’s at Graves Park in Sheffield. The entire place is FREE and has a large kids play and sand play area, a river, walks and a a really lovely farm, which is free to enter.

I couldn’t believe how nice the farm was kept and the range of animals there is really good with Llamas, deer, donkeys, goats, chickens pigs and many petting animals.

2)Free car Parking. As we couldn’t park in the car park at Graves Park, we had to park at the side of the road, completely free.

3)Managed to buy a four pack of seeded rolls from Asda for 10p for my picnic. I then froze the rest for other lunches.

4)Used my KFC app to get my sons a Krushem for 99p to go with his streetwise box. Fries, popcorn chicken and a Krushem total price £2.98.

5)Sorted my purse and did my weekly banking.

Also filled out some Mcdonalds surveys on some of the receipts I found. Entering the codes will give me Big Mac and Fries for £1.99 ready for when I want to use them.

If you enjoyed reading this, then take a look at last week’s 5 Frugal things.

Great tips. I love a day at the park with a picnic! It’s nice to spend a day out and come home having spent virtually nothing 🙂

Every Penny Counts. If you can find a way to save a dime, I’m on that! One thing, though. I want to avoid fast food all together because it’s expensive and WAAAAY too delicious!

Looks like you made a great time out of spending very little. I enjoy taking my kids to parks for free.

I remember taking my own children to a park very similar when I lived in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. So much free fun.

Love all of these tips! I’ve had a week of spending, so this is making me feel a little shameful. 🙂

The week has been so awesome for you for sure but above all, spending time at Graves Park sounds so memorable. And I’m certain it was, right?

Great tips. It good to get outside and parks and picnics are always a great excuse to do just this. Enjoying yourself doesn’t have to be about spending lots of money.
